The Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry is dedicated to training undergraduate as well as the graduate students in public health dentistry. This helps to work within interdisciplinary teams to conduct investigations on the risk factors for oral disease and in identifying their relation to systemic disease.
This also hepls in the use of oral epidemiological methods to study the health verious outcome of dental services and oral health policy. Preventive and Community Dentistry is a subject designed to help the student to explore professional ethics as they relate to dentist's relationships to peers, patients and the community.
The aspirent's attend dental camps and by their self earned experience they perform initial screening examinations. They are sensitised to specific needs of a variety of patient populations which is the initiation of the immense possibilities to explore.
